Benefits and Key Features

• This service is provided to ensure instructional and informational videos are accurately captioned for understanding and accessibility.
• With new digital accessibility requirements, digital content must be made accessible, including videos, which must have accurate captions and audio descriptions when appropriate. 
• The purpose of this service is to edit machine captions that vary in accuracy and assist in identifying and remediating areas where audio descriptions may be necessary. 
• Digital Accessibility Assistants within Learning Technology Services will review Kaltura videos, update captions, and create or suggest audio descriptions as needed for videos submitted through this service. 

Getting Started

• Click the Request Service in the right-hand menu to submit a Kaltura video for captioning assistance.
• Fill out the following information:
  • Requested Completion Date
  • Exact Title of Video
  • Video Creation Date
  • Any Additional Information, like names of speakers in the video or other information that would help clarify the context of the video
  • Relevant Attachments, like notes, transcripts, key terms, or other information that may be hard to discern if not provided
  • Check the box provided to acknowledge understanding that our captioners may reach out to you for further clarification
