Duo is a two-factor authentication application that provides a second layer of security to any type of login, requiring extra information or a physical device to log in, in addition to your password.

• By requiring two different channels of authentication, we can protect user logins from remote attacks that may exploit stolen usernames and passwords.
• Protect your UW Stout account and makes sure no one else can act on your behalf, even if your password has been compromised.

Requirements

• A valid UW Stout username/password.
• A smartphone capable of running the Duo Mobile app or a hardware token.

Getting Started

• Enrolling in 2-Step (Duo) Using a Mobile Device
• If you do not have a smartphone capable of running the Duo Mobile app
  • If within the Menomonie area, please stop into the Technology Helpdesk to pick up a Duo fob
  • If not within the Menomonie area, please request a Duo fob.
