Network Support

LIT supports client's use of the campus networks, both wireless and wired. The underlying network infrastructure is maintained by LIT's Infrastructure Services team where issues on client devices are serviced by the Client Technology Services team.

Benefits and Key Features

• Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), campus networks can be accessed by clients regardless of the device they are using.
• Guests can utilize the StoutGuest network while on campus.
• Wired networks can be utilized in offices and dorms.

Requirements

• UW Stout username and password (if connecting to our secured wifi networks)

Getting Started

• Assistance with network issues can be requested by creating a ticket or calling the Technology Help Desk (715-232-5000).
• Walk-ins are also welcome at the Technology Help Desk during our open hours.
• Directions for connecting to our secured network are maintined in our KnowledgeBase:
  • Connecting on a Windows computer
  • Connecting on an Apple computer
  • Connecting with an Android device
  • Connecting with an iOS device
• Visitors can connect to our StoutGuest wireless network.
• Non-standard devices can connect to StoutNonSecure
• Those wanting to used the wired network will first need to register their devices.
